But that does also mean it’s a story we’ve seen an awful lot of times before, not only across films, TV, and comics, but also in the previous two games in this series. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 lets players swing through the streets of New York as Peter Parker and Miles Morales, facing off against formidable foes in an action-packed superhero adventure.
Peter, Mary Jane, and Harry visit Coney Island to reconnect; while there, the Hunters attack the park to capture a reformed Tombstone. While Peter rescues civilians, he is assisted by a super-powered Harry, who learns about Peter’s double life. Harry reveals that, on his father Norman Osborn’s insistence, he was cured by Curt Connors via a powerful organic exosuit that physically augments his body.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is close, with Insomniac Games currently working on a follow-up to their acclaimed PlayStation title from 2018. From the release date to all the confirmed characters, here’s a full overview of everything we know about the superhero sequel so far. Miles, a student at Brooklyn Visions Academy, sees all of his friends solidifying their plans for college—but he is feeling left out.

Obviously, since the game hasn’t come out yet, we can’t give you a summary of Spider-Man 2 (we also wouldn’t want to spoil your next adventure). The mid-credits scene reveals that Harry is to be released from his stasis pod, even though his health is still unstable. Peter puts Miles to the test, going off to Symkaria for a couple of weeks to help MJ with her work as a reporter there and leaving Miles in charge of protecting the city, leaving him as the sole Spider-Man in NYC for the first time. Miles reveals to Peter in the credits’ scene that he has gained spider-like powers after he was bitten by a spider that escaped Osborn’s personal lab. Additionally, we’re shown a teaser for the Symbiote in Osborn’s lab, where he has also kept Harry in a tank until he finds a cure for his illness.

Peter takes the symbiote to Oscorp to destroy it, but a desperate Harry intercepts him and reclaims it, transforming into a monstrous creature. After slaughtering Oscorp staff trying to remove the symbiote from him, the symbiote-induced Harry escapes into Times Square, where he defeats several of Kraven’s Hunters before overpowering and killing Kraven himself. The symbiote convinces Harry to “heal the world” by infecting everyone on Earth with symbiotes, starting with New York. Harry, now calling his symbiote Venom, transforms Mary Jane into Scream, but Peter helps her break free after battling and reconciling with her.
Miles overcomes his anger towards Li and helps him escape, directing him to find Peter. Despite the disappointment, it’s unlikely that any DLC for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 would’ve been very exciting. All of which brings us to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s PC system requirements, with Sony’s minimum specification targeting 720p at 30fps on Very Low settings. Those with considerably more powerful hardware (which is to say, an RTX 4090 and i K/Ryzen X3D) can aim for 60fps at 4K resolutions, using Very High Ray Tracing Ultimate settings.
The game requires at least a GTX 1650 or Radeon RX 5500 XT to run properly at minimum settings. For a smoother and more visually immersive experience, an RTX 3060 or Radeon RX 5700 is recommended. The first is Kraven the Hunter (Sergey Kravenoff), who arrives to New York alongside his gang to hunt who he perceives to be a worthy opponent. While overseeing a prison transfer with Peter at The Raft, a vengeful Miles fails to stop the Hunters from capturing Martin Li, who previously killed his father, Jefferson Davis. Investigating Kraven, Peter discovers he is hunting super-powered individuals in search of an “equal”. Having already killed Scorpion, Vulture, Shocker, and Electro, Kraven attempts to capture Black Cat. However, Miles helps her escape to Paris by using the mystical Wand of Watoomb.
Tempted by the power and freedom of his new abilities, Miles must decide what kind of Spider-Man he wants to be. Just a day before launch, on Jan. 29, Sony issued a statement saying that certain single-player games would no longer require a PSN account to play on PC. However, Sony Interactive Entertainment will offer you a bonus to log in — in Spider-Man 2’s case, that bonus is an early unlock for the Spider-Man 2099 Black Suit and the Miles Morales 2099 suit. The best thing MJ contributes to this game is when she turns into Scream. She vents her frustrations with herself and Peter in a way that shows she isn’t this perfect paragon she’s presented as the rest of the time. Lean into that and show that she’s just as flawed as the main two heroes, and more people might actually start to like her.
